Automo was born almost 2 years ago, from a recording & live act called Automo|Futurnik.
Futurnik (Henry Rivero) and Automo started their collaboration in early 2006 as a recording & song writing team, drawing inspiration from Kraftwerk, Sisters of Mercy, Depeche More and Client, amongst others.
They soon developed into a live act, combining programmed electronic sounds with darker electric guitar and vocals, with good reception from the audiences.
Playing at various venues in London in the second half of the year, such as Studio Neon (Shoreditch), 43 South Molton Street and the Bar Music Hall (also in Shoreditch) further developed their sound, both live and in the studio.
Due to artistic differences they went their separate ways, whereupon Automo returned to Ivan Anchant, who prior to meeting Henry, had been the producer of some of his work.
In between recordings Automo has ventured into video-making and editing, in order to extend the lyrical ideas and develop the music even further.

Lyrically inspiration is drawn from personal experiences, ups & downs, memories and the future. As an example, “Devil In Me” was lyrically influenced by the live performances and becoming a frequent visitor on London’s club scene, such as Notting Hill Arts Club and Madame Jojo’s.
Musical influences varies from Pet Shop Boys, Madonna (92+), Calvin Harris, Goldfrapp, Dead or Alive and previously mentioned Depeche Mode, Client and Kraftwerk.
