    BIO

In 2001 Terrell Sullivan, a.k.a.Tru Soldier, and Jamal Ingram a.k.a. The Professor, formed the songwriting and production team known as The Phusion. As former members of the rhythm & praise Hip-Hop group The Advocates of Unity, The Phusion strives to create music that paints pictures of the Word of God applied to everyday life. Infusing traditional Hip-Hop with Brazilian, Middle Eastern, and Christian contemporary styles of music, they proclaim the messages of salvation to the non-believer as well as the believer. The Phusion's vision as believers in Jesus Christ is to promote concepts of greater international fellowship and worship among the world's culturally diverse believers.

The Phusion's music messages address global and urban social issues such as those found in their single, "Special Place." Many tales of Christian struggle for godly obedience are found in the partner’s songs such as in the more recent recording, Jonah".

The Phusion has ministered at several venues in the US nation’s capitol area including George Mason University, Hood College, Evangel Cathedral Temple, Interdenominational Church of God, Church of the Redeemer, My Brothers's Place, Immanuel Church, and Solid Rock Church. They have also ministered in different areas of the US including Messiah College in Pennsylvania, Temple University in Philadelphia, Club Feelize in Virginia Beach and in Rochester, NY. In addition, they have been involved in "Sound Tha" Alarm in Baltimore and “"Praise In Da Park MusiqFest" in Virginia. Both are popular Christian music events. The Phusion also performed at the “03” International Human Rights Rally held in Washington on the mall and have done mission work overseas in the Dominican Republic in “99” and in Chiclayo, Peru in “07”.

Along with radio interviews on Heaven 1580, a Washington, DC. gospel radio station, The Phusion’s music has been in rotation on various gospel Hip-Hop radio shows across the country and internationally. These venues include GospelTrax in Sand Springs, Oklahoma which airs the only all Christian, Hip-Hop radio show in America.

While the lyrical styling of The Phusion’s work starkly points to the struggle within the Church to acknowledge Christian Hip-Hop as a form of praise music, they remain steadfast in proclaiming the gospel through this music genre. The Phusion believes, in all sincerity, that a clean heart with right motives is the measure by which God judges.
