I have always had a life long passion for music and writing. My father sings, plays bass guitar and keyboard. My mother is a writer and some of her poetry has been published and she has been given recognition for the poetry that she has written. My sister sings in a church choir. From them I was influenced to pursue music and writing.
I enjoy singing and listening to all types of music. My style of music is an easy listening mixed with Hip Hop, R&B, Rock, Funk and Country. Many people have complimented and can relate to my songs. I have heard some people say that it is as if I’m singing about their life experiences.
In 2006, my CD single “What else do you want?” was released, I performed with Donald Trapani, an Elvis tribute artist, doing fund raisers events and special engagements, completed music recordings in Nashville, TN, I’m featured on DO-P’s CD “Will I Be Heard?” and was given recognition for my poetry. I received an Editors Award and was nominated as 2006 Poetry Ambassador and Poet of the year by the International Library Of Poetry. Just as my mother’s poetry, I also have poems published. So far I only have two, which are “In The Mirror“ and “Don‘t Ever Say“.
In 2007, my CD “Fulfilled” was released. The CD is mixed with the styles of music that I enjoy and features two new upcoming artists producers, singers and songwriters Foresight (Eric Early) and Do-P (Robert Markowski). I recorded a DVD interview and my song “What else do you want?“ was featured on the Songwriters TV Show in Nashville, TN.
In 2008, I worked with several musicians and producers writing and recording songs such as “Ginger“ which stayed at #1 and in the top 10 for weeks on Soundclick and performed at outreach programs. I also sung with the band “Consider This” as lead vocalist and hosted and judged talent shows.
I am currently working with other bands, songwriters, and singers writing lyrics and yes, I’m still performing. I also enjoy volunteering speaking and helping others that have endured domestic violence. Even though I am writing lyrics and singing, I have not given up on poetry. My book of poetry has not taken a back seat; it is just on the passenger side, so to speak and has helped a lot with songwriting.
I give thanks to God for the precious gifts that I have and will continue to positively inspire people through songs and poetry.
