Jesse’s first influences were Elvis and The Beatles. He started writing song poems at nine and began singing and playing the guitar at fourteen. He started his first band, PAX, around a year later in order to enter the Edna High School Talent Show.
By the early ‘70’s he moved on from pop to underground rock and blues, and formed JENSEN while living in Corpus Christi. In 1980 he moved to Victoria and formed BOIS D’ ARK, and recorded professionally for the first time. With 2 different lineups the band released two 45 rpm records (’80 and ‘85), receiving local airplay. The 45’s were placed in jukeboxes within the 100 mile radius of Victoria. A video shot for Channel 55 in Victoria aired for about three months.
After moving to Albuquerque in 1991, he began promoting bands from all around the world, to the entire world through compilation projects. This lasted only 4 years due to an injury. In the late ‘90’s he moved to Tulsa, OK, and in ‘99 Jesse became a solo artist playing guitar, bass, keys, and singing lead vocals.
Jesse’s fourth release,"35 Years of Obscurity", features songs reminiscent of ‘60’s soul, and ‘70’s rock and roll, hard rock and heavy metal. From soft ballads to head banging. One of the zines calls his style "Christian Biker Rock". Well, he did play at a lot of biker parties back in the ‘80’s.
As God would have it, due to an injury Jesse is back to producing compilations. I am currently accepting submisions in the feilds of Pop, Rock, New Age, Punk, Metal, Hardcore, and everthing in between for Compilation Volume 9 and DVD Compilation Volume I. Deadline is December 15th.
If you are an unsigned artist, you are encouraged to join this promotional network. We have great support from zines (print/online) and radio (internet/commercial) from around the world. Visit us
