• Matell -- born Victor in Colorado, but since then a resident of California, Denver, -- is a singer, songwriter, journalist and performance artist. He's made several albums of postmodern socialist r&b music for independent label, the latest being his "ET (Eastern Trees of all Trees" of records beginning with the EP. "This Is, What's Been Goin On" -- . In California (but nowhere else) he's an artist, startling people with random announcements, for instance, at last year's VH1's Save The Music they announced his song "We Will Survive" as Best Lyrical song and the year before that Eastern Trees was the Best Lyrical song. He publishes a column at Wired News and writes for a living, but most frenetically of all -- every morning, in fact -- for his blogs on myspace.com/matell and lastfm.com/matell.
